Where It All
Began

Chang Wen-Hwang founded Aniki Hardware Mfg. in 1965 at a time when Taiwan's manufacturing sector was awakening to the world. With a deep belief in material quality and honest craftsmanship, he built his first padlock operation from the ground up — turning raw brass into reliable security hardware destined for markets across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Under his vision, the workshop rapidly grew into an export business with an international reputation. By 1975, the YETI brand was officially established — a name that would become recognised worldwide as a mark of quality and precision in security hardware.

His legacy is carried forward today by the second and third generations of the Chang family — who have expanded the product range, modernised manufacturing, and opened new markets worldwide, while never compromising the founding principle of quality without shortcuts.

Aniki Hardware Mfg. Founded
Chang Wen-Hwang establishes the company in Taiwan, beginning padlock manufacturing for local and regional markets. The workshop focuses on solid brass construction and precision pin tumbler mechanisms — quality standards that remain central to the brand today.
1971
International Export Begins
As Taiwan's manufacturing sector grows, Aniki Hardware begins supplying overseas distributors — developing the company's first international relationships with buyers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
1975
YETI Brand Established
With growing international recognition and customer confidence, the YETI brand is officially created — a mark of quality, reliability, and craftsmanship that becomes recognised worldwide by hardware importers and distributors.
1984
Second Generation Takes Leadership
The second generation joins the business, bringing formal engineering education and expanding the product line beyond padlocks into lock cylinders, mortise locks, drawer locks, and door hardware. Export markets deepen across Europe and North America.
2000s
Safe Locks & OEM Expansion
Aniki expands into safe combination lock manufacturing and introduces comprehensive OEM / ODM services — allowing global brands to private-label YETI-quality hardware under their own names with custom finishes, engravings, and packaging.
Today
Third Generation — Modernisation & Creative Direction
The third generation leads Aniki into its next chapter — maintaining manufacturing excellence while introducing a new Creative Lock Collection (文創鎖藝) that reimagines the padlock as cultural art, gift, and expression for the global lifestyle market.
